1/100 MG AMX-004-3 Qubeley Mk-II

14 September 2006

Today I came home from my hostel room in school to spend some time at home after a week of crazy tutorials, labs and what not. I have decided to try to join BAKUC 2006 but I really don’t know whether I’ll be able to spare much time on this. The plan is sort of there and although I’m excited to finish it, I’m not so hot about joining a competition. It would be a good way to get out of my comfort zone for once. On to the updates, a realy small one at that but nontheless its still progress! I lost some of the good photos I managed to recover some lost photos! yeah. Enjoy!

Today we will be making wingbinder ala geeblized parts.

At the end, this is what your recipie should look like

Ingredients: capacitors, a motor coil, soldering wire, cut aluminium tube stubs, floral wire (copper looking thing), braided wire, regular wire(red).

Method: Grab random bits of geeble and superglue onto model in a convincing fasion. When someone questions the validity or reason for something reply with technical mumbo jumbo. If all else fails, say that it is too complicated to explain. Off topic: I must say I am very proud of these 2 red things. Wonder why I never thought of this design earlier! I was glueing the aluminium tube in a regular pattern, waiting for the superglue to dry when i thought of FF’s Grab handles he did for his JGSDF Type 74 Main Battle Tank. I took the wire and bent one for fun on my tweezer when it occured to me that I could stuff it there and it would fit nicely. Well, its got abit of a gap but i guess its nothing really big. After I prime everything its going to be red again. I think it looks cool painted red.

Optional Additional Things: The motor coil thingy with a capacitor beside it. The wire coming out is a piece of soldering wire superglued to it.

All primed and ready to go!

Sadly, When I put on the armour it doesn’t fit well. I’m not sure why. Even after looking a long while I can’t really figure out where its getting obstructed so I think I’ll leave it alone. It also doesn’t look really impressive actually. I think it looks quite blah.. Maybe its because I’ve looked at it too long. Next up will be too geeble some of the other cut-outs and to paint the kit. Meanwhile i will draw up some plans for my diorama. Its my first!

Next: More detailing of wing-binder internals, priming everything up and photoshoot.
