I think I’m just beginning to accept that the canon is not the same as the olympus and I shouldn’t expect it to be. Shall dig up its strengths and change the way I take photos.

Back to Photos!
Finally, I got my olympus c-5050 back! ahhhh…. I miss it so much! So I took a few photos today. This is the photo of the day! I had lunch with Cheryl and then went to a table to talk about her portfolio as a website and snapped a shot as we talked to YX over skype. a tad dark though. Wasted.
Anyway, I had lab too. Long day.. I got up at 540 to escape the madness of the morning rush.. then I went to school for a 4 hour lecture then lunch, then had lab until 5. So I’ve been up a pretty long long time. Heh..

Misc Shots of my Life

Seeing Double? Yes.. I got them 500gb drives finally.. Its really not that expensive when you consider how long I’m going to be using these 2 things and what they contain.
I was going to begin the next photo caption with.. “we’ve all been down this road before..” but I’m sure the corniness would freeze everyone to death so I won’t. Instead, I shall go for something innocuous like “Funny Road Sign”. See.. so boring la.

Lastly, my suppoeroo which I consume as I type this. Actually, I shall eat the last piece now. okay. I’m done. *mmmmm*. See what joy 2 dollops of butter and jam can do? And the scones are home made.. just in case you feel like going out to buy.

Old Old Photos
Something nice is going up to my flickr! Going to upload over the next couple of weeks so they don’t disappear like all my other 5 years of photos.. Keep watching.

Flickr
Well, I got 3 months of FREE flickr pro because I shifted from the now defunct yahoo photos and so I decided to give it a super tough test run. I must say it really exceeds all my expectations. One thing I’m apprehensive about is compartmentalising my life’s journey into two places. I used to think I could keep it all on one hosting account but it seems like thats not going to be possible..
After my 320GB HDD crashed.. I realised I am doing recovery for all my photos and generally, other stuff that has sentimental value. My photos are about 20gb in total so I guess.. uploading htem to flickr seems to be the most sensible solution. At $35SGD a year, which is ultra cheap, I have a double solution. I get to backup my photos with unlimited space, and at the same time share it with everyone. Of course, there are really tons of photos I still keep private cos its just too unglam, or I dowan ppl to see la. But most of it is really open and I’m sure some of you would be quite interested.
Well, I’m still waiting on my HDD. If the recovery is successful, I’ll be $1300 poorer, and you’ll see all the photos up here in about a month after I painstakingly tag, rotate, and group them into collections and sets. I realise flickr is not really a good system to do things chronologically. So I might have to change teh way I store my photos.
One thing I am interested to do, is to tag every single photo with everybody inside it. Cool right? like.. search for yh then all my photos would come out (I wonder who would do that). And, when you search for a pretty girl like YX, her photos would all come out too. Well, I’ve been wondering if that makes it too easy for stalkers. hahaha.. And I’ll think about the usefulness of that once I totally redesign my site from the ground up. I’m not even going to use any existing theme.. Its going to be from scratch.
So without further ado, here is my flickr account. There are about 1500, only scratched the surface la.. I hope all my photos are recoverable. If they are, they are all going up! No more worries of losing my photos!

Messenger Bag Finished..
Okay, I’m done with the bag. I’m pretty happy with the basic idea of it though it is completely feature-less for now. I just realised how hard it is to just get the basic shape of the bag, let alone adding pockets and stuff.. This bag only has a main compartment, 2 medium pockets and one large one behind those 2. The velcro I put at the sides as an afterthought, but it works quite well. Except for the fact the stitching might tear cos its like.. one loose item sticking out. Also, material-wise its silly cos you have to add two things instead of just sewing the velcro to the cover, thus saving you a little cloth and having to sew less. There are less lines of weakness in the design too.
Looking at the bag, its just too ghetto to carry out for everyday use. But that said, its just the test test. I used a piece of banner I had from last time (BFC labour day outing groundsheet) instead of waiting on they vinyl cos I thought it’ll be better to just get the main idea first before squandering nice new vinyl on it. I’l use it the next time I go outfield during ICT. I’m serious.. haha.. think messenger bags are quite shiok for medium items if in SBO attire. I mean.. last time I had to fight with the stupid sec comm bag all the time. So tiny and carry so many things and so hard to take stuff out. If i wanted to take something out, i had to take EVERYTHING out. SAF should consider using messenger bags. haha..
