Random Not So Trivial Trivia

Christ came on a donkey, not because the donkey is a lower or humbler/common animal or what. But Kings rode donkeys when they came in peace. Riding a horse would indicate a king going to war. Christ came on a donkey to proclaim himself as the king and messiah. The jews expected a superman who would wipe out the roman oppressors and (I think) concluded that he could not be the messiah.

Household Salvation and a Blog

Is Acts 16:31 a promise? (read Acts 16:25-34 in totality first) or was it a statement made as a logical conclusion? (ie. if you as the head of your house gets saved, your family will eventually see your testimony and get saved)

some online opinions: yes & no

Honestly he could have phrased his domain name/URL better, but essentially his attitude toward homosexuality is something like mine. That having such an “orientation” (if such a thing exists) does not require you to obey it. In other words, temptation != sin.

His opinion might change in future and I’m not responsible for that.. so if you see something funny through that link just leave a comment and I can take it down.

On bible knowledge

grown brain

1 Corinthians 2:14

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

To conclude my musings on why some people just don’t have (to me) basic bible knowledge, I was humbled and convicted by a friend of my pride.

Firstly, these things are revealed to us! Not something we can understand unassisted - christian or not. The above verse makes it clear that without the spirit working in us, the bible becomes meaningless and dead! What pride to think we could understand it on our own! The only reason a christian can read and rejoice at God’s written revelation is the spirit that dwells in us.

Is your bible reading dead today? maybe you need to get in touch with the spirit again.
