I’m building a little bike from bits all over the place.
So far I’ve gotten for free:
a nice steel shimano oldie frame from the 90s
quill stem
drop bars
bottom bracket
fork
I’ve gotten a bunch of parts from my cousin from a distributer and got a good price on everything, those include
an SR Royale chain wheel and cranks,
shimano exage brake levers,
calipers
a chromed Tange Headset.
I also picked up from yixuan:

Still missing some

rear cog
I primed it with some brown primer (wish it were white) after using a wire-brush on a drill to strip the existing paint. Going to spray the tubes blue and leave the lugs white.. Here are some pictures.
So after a million years of living with an old verysion of the photo resizing script I realized the fix is so simple. Now I can just update my plugins whenever I like. Also, I just updated the plugin I use to chuck all the flickr photos in and it doesn’t seem to work at all. haha.. back to the old one then. Lalala.. Off to shower, then sleep.
It was an enjoyable day despite the tiredness from 2 hours of sleep.. I slept at 530 and woke at a super late 730 and was almost late to catch a ride to church.
I really enjoyed the message. I was shutting down completely without even knowing it so I went at the back to stand around and drink water.. after which sunday school was also very nice. I think.. I have been illumined by a simple meeting which God has used to steer my thinking and actions quite strongly. The boys were funny and stoning as usual. As much as it is a heavy thing to do, sunday school is really so enjoyable I wonder why I never did it before. It is definitely not the root cause but I think it’s helped me see things in a different way and also encouraged me on in an inexplicable way. I hope I never get used to it.
Bonus blessing of the day (not just for me) was when I recieved an offer for a cheap camera for aunty becky. The previous seller which I thought was a very good deal already wasn’t replying after I offered $400 instead of $450. I thought he was annnoyed and just ignoring me.. but actually he was just taking half a day to reply me. Had he replied me any sooner I would have bought it at $450 instead of getting the super good deal one which was about $90 lower. Quite a substantial amount when you’re talking about $450-$360. Also, I never thought I could gush about a good camera deal and God’s blessing at the same time so here it is, there’s always a first for everything. hahaha..
Formatted upstairs desktop. Extremely ultra tiredness man. I mean.. I’ve been up for almost 2 whole days with only a short 2 hours nap in between. I definitely need to sleep alot more. Lucky tomorrow no school, my eyes are hurting and my thinking is very slow now..
Attended my sispec buddy’s wedding dinner. Its very interesting how close a relationship can be forged over a tough time like training.. its really something that nobody can take away from us. From being siao-on, getting selected for OCS, digging crazy fire trench around a tree, flying aeroplanes and eating noodles late every night.. now we’re all in our own lives.. and these things are not easily forgotten. Funny is also that William was his colleague and so I sat at William’s table and had a smashing time with his buddies. They were quite mad.. haha..
I’m going to get a shower and then do some reading then go airport. Shall upload photos too…
I did the quiz and I felt it was disappointingly lame.. I was thinking so many of the answers don’t fit what I think. haha.. still, its impossible to know what your fear is in like.. 10 plus questions.
After a long day, me and YX got to spend some time with each other after a nice meal with my parent’s at a chinese restaurant. So they sent us back to get the car from church and after some mango desert at HK cafe I heard the loud loud sound of those getai kinda thing while driving her back so we parked at the old bus interchange and watched the CNY dinner celebrations there.
Check out this super young girl.. she sounds like 40yr old aunty power voice la.. but I didn’t video.
What really was a pleasant surprise was to see in person the “Bian(4) Lian(3)” art.. and it was a lady some more! Supposedly they don’t teach to ladies and she is one of the first to ever get to learn it. Aparently even liu de hua trid to ask someone to teach but they didn’t.. lol.. So here it is! I found it so cool she still can go into the audience and change..
So that’s it for now! Having dinner later. Now do FYP presentation.
Haha.. I remember this from GITS long long ago when the puppet master would hack into everyone’s visual feed to mask his face. I wonder when they will come up with the next series.
Managed to pick up six bodum double walled glass cups. They’re great!
Its for hot stuff but the best thing ever because of the insulation is they almost don’t sweat when you have an ice-cold drink inside! Amazing. hahaha.. Come have a drink with me some day!
So while all 3 cameras were in the same bag in seperate, padded compartments, my dad’s rollei decided to show who’s boss my giving my G9 a broken LCD window with a solid little lug the wrist loop is connected to. Well, at least the screen itself isn’t broken, just the plastic over it.
Quite abit of googling and looking around later I found a new one for about $15 in total and took my camera apart just to see if it would be DIY-able. Its really quite simple actually.. and next time I could even change the lens assembly and other crazy parts myself if it ever spoilt.
So there.. my poor camera.. again kena for nothing. Check out the crack and the naked camera.
Babysit-ed her for a while today. I realise entertaining a baby is about learning how to do it. Haha.. I broke out all the bright colored pens and gadgets for her to play.
