Dance With Me

Haha, I find myself being more and more unable to make a POTD because there are just too many I like. I also realise blur, grain and other imperfections don’ bother me as much anymore. No idea why. I guess its the way the photo makes me feel or think. Less thinking more feeling and remembering. SO here are some more:

That’s about it I think. The last two were from the rolleiflex. Awesome stuff thats more than just sharp. I’m off to bed! The 55mm f1.2 is really legendary. Its so tough and chunky I feel invincible with it on the camera. haha.. Its so tough that the 52mm UV filter it came it shattered to pieces in the presence of its awesomeness.
*insert picture of shattered glass here which is still uploading*

So for now I’m not screwing any old filter on it lest it shatter again. Probably pick up a Hoya HD ultrahard filter to put on it.

Well, I was going thru the forums looking at photos and saw these nice and sharp sharp sharp pictures..

now, these look like they come from a Ricoh GR-1, a real gem and beauty which is a couple of hundred bucks.

But it really came from a camera like the first one on this page.. at $15.

LOL.
So.. anyone still interested in big $$$$ cameras? I’m going down to sungei road to pick up the one I saw last week for $2 when I have the chance.. Hope its still there.

Well.. some is subjective. haha.. I bought 45 rolls of Fujichrome Velvia 50 expired in June 1996, a good 12 years ago. The original velvia.. No no, I’m not going to use it all myself (I think). Thats like $720 in developing cost. I am going to sell the stuff, one roll at a time. No hurry to move it I suppose. If I manage to sell it at what I’m thinking, I’ll probably break even at about 25 rolls. Now if only I can find some fridge space for it..

Film
Check out the abundant film section in a tokyo camera store..

Oh man.. *drools*
Anyway it was really nice today. I picked up some expired slide film for my trip to the states and the guy I bought it from was clearing out his stuff so he just threw in another 6 rolls of negatives in addition to the 4 rolls of slide film. So now I have a modest film stash. I feel slightly embarrassed at my 14 rolls in my drawer now. More than enough for a whole year.

I’m going to rest. Been tired recently.

Okay, I thought this film was rubbish but apparently, I’m not the only one who gets mega grain on this film. Its very common.. in fact.. even when its slide processed instead of cross processed.. its still grainy. hahaha.. whoops. and I have another roll. Shall use as test rolls. NEW FILM HERE I COME! haha.. Shall try Kodak Ektachrome 64 next. I’ve seen peple use cheapo superia with such good results. I wonder.. if its the camera. Poor rollei.. its actually my favouritest even though its so troublesome to take photos.. the yashica felt so.. enormous to use today. I felt like a joke taking it out. The following post will contain almost all the pictures from this roll. I’m quite happy with it. Esp the last one of YX and the one at the study table.
