I’ve been packing. Managed to clear up the floor. Tomorrow I’m looking through some old clothes before passing them to the salvation army. YX is going to pick me in a few minutes to go out for supper and ZG just msged me that round zero of bidding starts on wed. On top of that I just finished laying the framework for Uncle buck’s site, and more or less finished up the site for patrick chern.. only need to fill in all the content. I feel like the whole holidays has been a blur.. I managed to do so much.. but I still feel like I’ve accomplished nothing much really. Think I shall list out some stuff I did over the holidays

The weather at night has been simple delectable. Its always raining and cold.. so nice to not need to switch on the air con.

After I read this, I think I shall sort of gather all important data and stuff for people to use after I’m dead/incapacitated. I wouldn’t want my stuff to go to waste!

Thoughts and Discussions
Is Acts 16:31 a promise? (read Acts 16:25-34 in totality first) or was it a statement made as a logical conclusion? (ie. if you as the head of your house gets saved, your family will eventually see your testimony and get saved)
some online opinions: yes & no

Honestly he could have phrased his domain name/URL better, but essentially his attitude toward homosexuality is something like mine. That having such an “orientation” (if such a thing exists) does not require you to obey it. In other words, temptation != sin.
His opinion might change in future and I’m not responsible for that.. so if you see something funny through that link just leave a comment and I can take it down.

I’m trying this service over at www.flickaday.com where you take a picture of yourself using your webcam every single day. It comes with a calendar and allows you to upload one picture a day. In addition to my thoughts, maybe I can keep a record of how I look too.. Thing is the photos are on their server, I wish it could be contained on this blog so its more fully integrated. I’ve added to my about page

It was quite funny to go for dinner, haven’t seen them in such a long time that I almost miss them. She’s into making jewelery (newest thing) and eng joo is now a 3SG. He’s going to ORD in february next year! Ord loh! haha.. Anyway being out with them triggered a few thoughts like
- Why don’t we spend time with people who are in church until they’re missing then we go find them?
- Does not bugging them about church constitute approval of what they do?
- Is coming to church even important or the whole point actually?
- How do we actually look at these people?
I have often thought in the past that people start misplacing priorities in life and how terrbly mistaken they are blah blah about what they are doing, give a sigh, shake head kinda thing. I just realised as we grow older and go into adulthood that these things just change and prioritising is not as simple as stacking lego bricks. Coming to church takes a back seat to placing God first in my life, being involved in service takes a backseat when compared with personal holiness (okay, this one still trying to take the backseat), my critical spirit gives way to love and encouragement. Probably the only reason I can say these things is that God’s grace enables you to show grace.
The church is God’s people. When God’s people show love, the church is showing love. When the church shows love, people like to come to the church naturally.
“Can we be more genuine and less fake?” What is genuine anyway? The best actor? haha.. I think being fake in a church going context is trying to look holier and more “on” than you really are. Everyone’s been guilty of it. It makes all the people who REALLY know their own condition discouraged and sad and feeling unworthy to come back to church. As I grow older, the propensity for hypocrasy gets stronger and stronger as young people in asian societies are told not to question older people’s motives and we sorta become people who don’t need to be accountable to anyone at all. Its real scary la. I dowan to grow old and become a stick in the mud, overbearing, stubborn, slack.
