The Wilds - Day 2

ARGH! Page refreshed and I’m now typing everything again. Blah.

Anyway I had 2 messages back to back in the morning, went for a music reading session where they sight read music and the publishers got to show their newer songs and stuff. Then was lunch. After that we went to the specialty classes, david went to a great conductor’s class. I went to listen to fred coleman sharing his 5 week program for choirs to gather a large repertoire for the pastor to select songs to complement his message. David and I had a small discussion about this quantity over quality. Now I understand how come spiritual disagreements can end so ugly and people start fighting. Anyway, saying nasty things about other people and fighting with each other still seems retarded to me. Disagree and wanna split just shake hands and leave loh. haha.. sigh. Anyway After the specialty class I went for a strings reading session. The publications by pinner publications were really great. I bought about $40 of music. Cello + Violin duet, violin solos, string quartets.. many titles. Talked to Bryan Pinner about instruments (more later). Bought 5 CDs today - $50 (yes, all USD), another 4 last night I think. Lotsa piano scores as well. Both simple and hard Hard HARD stuff. Going to buy some woodwind stuff tomorrow I think, I’m participating in the reading with my clarinet. Playing for these readings is more like a service to others at the camp because they can hear the pieces being played and then make a buying decision. I think I’m not going to get too many, don’t see any woodwinds other than myself and shirley around and its not really her 1st instrument anyway. Had dinner with Cheryl Webb, then now we’re in another reading session. I’m sorta shut off cos my throat is like itchy like siao and I’m wearing sandals too cos of my foot rot. Its getting really bad. Now my skin is totally raw between the first two toes. There’s no skin la! Anyway just hope it dries out over the next 3 days because I’ll have to wear shoes after that.

The Wilds - Day 1

Okay, I’ve reached the Wilds! It was a smooth trip here, other than the disgusting security checks. Feels so troublesome. I’ll update another time, need to make some ultra last minute travel plans.

Oh yes! Forgot to say, I saw Mrs Mincy. Will snap a photo when I’m free.. Anyone wanna say hi? Just ltag or email me or something.

Some photos to appease you for the moment…

{The_Wilds_Day1} Sandra! I ate your chocolates for breakfast!{The_Wilds_Day1} David and Me at Airport{The_Wilds_Day1} The same van that took me here the last time I think.. A nice guy called Will drove it{The_Wilds_Day1} The hall that they don't use anymore I think.. The one we used the last time.

Update - 1857hrs

Well, turns out the main meeting area also has a wireless network connection! Thats going to be so interesting. Also found out they record the messages in MP3 format now so no more crazy heavy and bulky tapes! yay! People are still filterng in. David kinda lost his bible and has gone back to the eating hall to look for it. Ate stuffing, mashed potatos, turkey and some kinda corn bread. It was salty and really nice. Sat with a bunch of people who happened to support the Delanys!

People Met so far: Cheryl Webb, Mrs Mincy.

Okay, I’m too lazy to upload one by one. Get the zip file here.

One thing i forgot to say is that while at macy’s, I bought a 19USD levi’s jeans for myself. Thats cheap man!

We decided to have some kimchi or korean food at korean central because we got back to the hotel early (we were scared of being mugged with so much shopping and we need to pack for an 0830 flight!) and we sumbled on a very good restaurant thats only been open for 2 months. The lady was nice and friendly.

Thats it for today, we’re just packing up and doing some ironing for tomorrow. Might not have any connection for the next 5 days at the wilds, or at all for the rest of the time because I don’t think we’re coming back here to stay. Might wanna go to some nature place. Depends.. we’ll see how. I’m going to pack pack pack.

Before I forget, I’m thankful for quite a few things again today.

1) We’re travelling alone (again)
2) We managed to get what we want and needed
3) We found that good korean food place
4) We’re leaving to the wilds tomorrow, meaning we can let our guard down and relax and not think about what to do for the next 4 days.
