openSuSE and Xgl

Well, messed around with linux (openSuSE and Xgl in specific) and its really impressive! Just that I don’t see a real good use for linux at the moment. Too comfortable in Windows. When I get OSx up and running that will change though… Intend to run both at the same time. Right now Firefox in linux is abit buggy, I can’t start it up after I’ve closed it cos it seems like its running in the background. Konqueror does not have the plugins that make firefox so desirable so I’m not so hot about it now. Well, back to study.. Something I need to overcome.

Tutorial is here

Hardware I’m running is a centrino duo and a nvidia geforce go 7300 card.

Ze Gang

Anyway, in light of my previous post, I think I shall thank Ze Gang for

  1. printing out like.. everything that can be downloaded and printed out from my IVLE folders
  2. for biding for all my modules
  3. for filling up forms I couldn’t fill up while I was in the states
  4. for calling the people to tell them I wanted to take 6 modules
  5. for balloting for all my tutorials after that
  6. for organizing my folders in such an organized way that the only way i could use it was to dump everything back into one folder
  7. for printing my notes today even after i came back

I wanna go out with him for a meal but we seem quite busy.

Appreciating People

My own behaviour struck me as curious just a moment ago when I thought about how people did not openly show appreciation to people (who were being nice to them), rather, they already have a set of people they are nice to and all. Then I realised that it was pretty much the same for me that I had a few people I did like and spent time and money on them which wasn’t reciprocated at (least in my perception). Curious? Or maybe its just me.

Lecture #1

After a whole holiday, my brain has atrophied and I find myself sitting in lectures with the same feeling I have each year. It seems so complicated and un-intelligible. 2 hours down, 3 more to go! Long day long day..

Last day at the Wilds

Well, its been really quick. Bought lotsa music, sang lotsa music, heard lotsa sermons. Its really all flying past me here and I hope I can take the rest of my break here to mull over whatever I’ve heard.

Anyway me and david took the giant swing today.. about 5 storeys high kinda thing where they winch you up one side then release you. Its a super rush, just started laughing and laughing, they must have thought we were crazy. David says we were the “flying chinks” act but we don’t know if they frown upon racist inuendo so we didn’t say it out loud.

*Mrs Mincy just walked past to her room*

Anyway we’re gonna fly out tomorrow morning pretty early so we’re packing tonight. David just walked in with another pile of music 3 fingers thick. We’re going to have problems with the weight limit soon. My luggage was at the limit when I came here, now its going to exceed. Haha..

Going for dinner soon, have a great time back home. I’m already starting to want to be home. Its kinda boring (and annoying *shhhh*) to be with the same person every single day. Another interesting thing is I heard the “your english is real good” comment made at david. So, *puts on thick american accent* I told him that I don’t like to put on the accent and their eyes opened abit wider and they looked kinda suprised. Kinda silly how they think an accent makes english good or bad. The grammer, language and vocab decides how good your english is right? Anyway I’ve to go for dinner already, tardiness doesn’t exist here and usually, people here are early the amount people are late back home.

awwright yaawl, awl just ‘ead fer dinner now, see ya later.
