Personal Blog

Its been about 3 weeks since I’ve come here. Been keeping myself busy with

  1. www.thiscowispurple.com
  2. www.bfcyouths.com future site
  3. Catching up with people
  4. Modelling
  5. PPT Slides for June camp

I’ve been thinking about my goals and priorities in life now, from the short term (finish building bla bla model) to long term (things i must do before I die). I’ve also thought to classify them into different aspects of my life. Personal goals, spiritual goals, Work goals. Although we can say its pretty much the same thing and all is for the Lord, It helps to seperate for the purpose of building up specific things like

study

  • Raise cap to 3.6 (means i have to get a 4.1 next sem) by
    • Attending ALL lectures (this one hard la)
    • revising lectures after each one (not so hard)
    • Finishing tutorials 2 days in advance (Super ultra hard)

Hmmm.. so thats just a sample of my goals. Haha.. now i’m feeling its impossible already but I’m sure all can be tweaked.

I’m still enjoying my time. Sleeping late, going for runs (sometimes), staying up late. Even with all this freedom, i still must consciously make time to read and I realised its so hard when your mind is cluttered with more and more unimportant thoughts.

Sen-ra-to-men-sa is coming up! I must go scheme and plot to make difficult clues! see y’all later.

Gallery – RX-78-2 ver. One Year War

This is a model I completed many moons ago for a client. Since its only my 6th i would say I’m quite satisfied with it. I went for the cleanest look possible and mixed up some desaturated colours to give it a more subdued look and less of a rich cartoony look. I was really busy with my studies and hence had no time to make in an progress page. The only pictures of it in those stages are in a harddrive – damaged and unrecoverable for now due to lack of finance (hdd recovery is crazy expensive!). Nonetheless, its going to be leaving me soon. So I’m snapping some pictures before i deliver it. When I do recover my drive, this is one of those things I’m coming around to doing first.

Unrelated but interesting – VENT, the portal of truth

Well, i found this site too interesting to let go. Its a place where people go to vent their fustrations and write stuff to people who will (hopefully) never read it. Sometimes you wonder why people would spend some time to do this. Will it really help?

Sometimes I think it only serves to get you more frustrated and you end up banging away at the keyboard and grinding your teeth. I personally feel the more you detest someone, the more you gradually act/become like him/her in small ways. Anyhow, if you don’t notice, most of the people who gripe are in the ex-boyfriend, boyfriend, husband, ex-husband section. Unless there are many gay vent-ers out there, it would be safe to say that most of the time, women have more gripes about men and are ready to express them to a world audience. Of course, you can conclude that women are more perfect than men and hence men have nothing to vent about. Whichever way you see it, have a good read, laugh over it and hopefully, reflect on your own behaviour perhaps?

Admin – Link hit counter

I’ve added a link hit counter, just to see what people are interested in and how many have clicked the links. For now it doesn’t seem to be slowing the site down so i’ll leave it as it is.

Article – Airbrush History

Short history for the interested..

Airbrush

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The airbrush is a small, highly precise spray gun for applying paint. It was invented in 1879 by Abner Peeler, in Iowa, USA. This first airbrush used a hand-operated compressor, and the inventor patented it “for the painting of watercolors and other artistic purposes”. However this first device was rather crude, being based on a number of spare parts in a jeweller’s workshop such as old screwdrivers and welding torches. It took 4 years of further development before a practical device was developed. Read the rest of this entry »

Website – Mecha Skunk

Home of ‘fulcry’ as he is known on the fichtenfoo forums, here’s a run-down of his site.

  • No Gallery of works as of yet
  • Special resources such as a translatedSukuSuku Scratch” and
  • an almost successful creation of aluminium thrusters, as often seen on peck world, read the sob story here on why it never materialised (will update with fanfare if ever available!)
  • Terribly embarrassing that Rob had to point it out! The aluminium thrusters have been here for ages. Even bought a set for myself! Check them out at his store among other misc. modelling supplies.
  • A store to get those common but not so commonly available parts for building and enhancing your model.

TCIP gallery update – Trexi

Well, its a simple Trexi I airbrushed for a special someone. The simplicity of it attracts me very much. This Trexi was part of a design competition and was all white at first. Sharpie markers were provided and I was supposed to submit it after I was done. Needless to say, that never happened and this guy was left on the shelf for a long long time. Until 2 days ago, when i picked it up for a quickie paintjob. Haven’t thought of a name or what. The desaturated one looks good as a Wallpaper though.
